Senior Grading & Farewell!
Wednesday, December 7th, 2011Big congratulations to Ketan Patel, one of our keenest students who has just taken his senior Blue Belt grading. Ketan’s been training with us for 3 years and as expected he trained very hard in preparation for the grading. On the day he was put under pressure by Sensei Will, and then by Sensei Adrian, Ben and Nas who he fought in three rounds of sparring. He was cheered along by his suitably impressed friends and family and he’s now off to live in Australia (watch out for those big spiders Ketan!) and we wish him all the best!
Congratulations to the Little Monkeys term champions!
Tuesday, December 6th, 2011The Little Monkeys have been hard at work this term practicing their punching, kicking, balance, co-ordination and listening! For their hard work they are awarded champion stars and at the end of term the Little Monkey with the most stars is crowned the term champion and awarded a trophy. Check out the photos below for the end of term photos which include the proud champions and runners-up brandishing their medals and trophies. Well done guys!

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011Junior Black Belt on the Spot!! (Razik)
Monday, December 5th, 2011
Earlier this year Sensei William and Sensei Russell had the very special honour and pleasure of awarding The Martial Arts Place’s very first JUNIOR BLACK BELT!
The Junior Black Belt is incredibly special and is not awarded lightly, it takes our students years of dedication, hard work and discipline and for this reason we feel it is only fitting to award Razik his very own ‘Junior Black Belt on the Spot’ article.

1) How long have you been involved in martial arts?
I have been doing martial arts since I was 5, that’s 2007. I was a bit shy at first but I
am now confident. It is lots of fun, especially now that we are doing harder stuff.
2) When not at TMAP where can you be found?
When not at TMAP I can be found playing cricket
with my friends, I really enjoy playing cricket especially
now that I have been to Lords and Hampstead Cricket Club.

3) What do you dislike?
I don’t like it when someone cheats in a game. it is bad to cheat
because it makes the game really unfair and no one enjoys it.

4) Best advice for someone at TMAP?
My advice for a beginner at TMAP is to concentrate on the lesson, work hard but have
fun and don’t worry if you make a mistake because Sensei will help you.
5) Favourite film?
The Bourne Identity – because of the fight scenes.
6) What do you like to snack on?
Oranges, carrots and hummous with breadsticks.

10) What song do you like to dance to?
I’m not a big dancer.

My Black belt grading – it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I am really
