Members of our fantastic competition squad are competing this weekend (Sunday 30th January) at the Watford Open Nationals, we’d like to wish them every success for this event!! If you’d like to wish them good luck in person and watch the competition then speak to your Sensei today or call the Dojo for information on how to get there. If you can’t make it but still want to wish them well (and who wouldn’t?) then please leave your good luck messages in the comments box!

TMAP Competition squad – competing this weekend
Thursday, January 27th, 2011Sensei on the spot!!
Tuesday, January 25th, 2011
Over the next few weeks we’re going to be putting our
favourite Sensei’s ‘on the spot’ to find out a little bit more
about what makes them tick…
Our first subject is Sensei William Lai.
.
.
.
How long have you been involved in martial arts?
“I started in my early teens a style called Kateda, it was centred around chi energy.
I gave up when they wanted to smash a half brick on my solar plexus.”
When not at The Martial Place where can we find you?
“Chilling at home.”
What are your top tips for staying Sensei fit?
“Do something,
Do something,
Do something.”
What’s your favourite snack?
“Noodles!”
.
.
.
If you had a super power what would it be?
“The ability to stop time/time travel like my double Hiro
Nakamora (in Heroes).”
.
.
What song guarantees you’ll get on the dancefloor?
“Any Chinese folk song! I quite like ‘Who’s that chick?’
by David Guetta & Rhianna.”
.
.
What’s the best martial arts film?
“It has to be ‘Drunken Master’ starring Jackie Chan, it’s the
first martial arts film I watched. The original Cantonese version
is the best.”
.
What’s the best piece of advice you can give a beginner at Tmap?
“Perservere!”
What ’spooks’ you?
“Lou Ferrigno – The Hulk, I used to have nightmares he was
chasing me!”
.
.
If you weren’t a Sensei at Tmap – what would you be?
“Really overweight – I love eating!”
.
.
.
.
Describe yourself in one word.
“Sensitive.”
How many push ups can you really do?
“Around 50.”
The next ‘Sensei on the spot’ will be our favourite Frenchman… Sensei Marco!
If you have any burning questions for Marco then add them to the comments box
